A Painting Holiday in the Italian Alps

28th May-11th June 2011

In and around Vił, a charming town in the mountains of Piedmont

David & Ros Cuthbert ran a painting holiday for two weeks in this unspoiled valley they took painters (and non-painters) to charming out of the way places like the house of the bee keeper above.

The town of Vił is to the west north west of Turin. It is a little known, unspoilt place not yet on the international tourist map. However it is well served with three restaurants, seven bars, some shops and a weekly market. We were fortunate to see the return of the cattle to their summer pastures. The noise from the cowbells had to heard to be believed!

We saw the profusion of wild flowers in the mountain meadows, on higher slopes I saw bush after bush of wild azalea.
